The Normalization of Zionist Ceasefire Violations

Sunday, January 26, 2025 is the day Israeli forces are due to vacate the territories they have occupied in southern Lebanon.

The ceasefire agreement brokered between the Lebanese groups and the Zionist entity stipulated that all Israeli troops would reposition to their positions in occupied northern Palestine, allowing the United Nations peacekeeping forces, the Lebanese army and the residents whose towns and villages have been at the epicentre of Zionist aggression since September 27 of 2024 to return.

Israel achieved through the ceasefire agreement what it had singularly failed to do through its military campaign of violence, and was thus enabled to occupy large areas of Lebanese territory illegally.

In its vicious attack upon Lebanese civilians in Beirut, the Bekaa Valley, towns and villages bordering occupied Palestine, it failed to gain any significant footprint on the ground.

The heroic actions of the resistance which liberated Lebanon in 2000 and 2006 valiantly and determinedly with huge sacrifices to their people, personnel and leaders thwarted Zionist plans to reoccupy southern Lebanon all the way up to the Latani river thereby expanding their territory as part of the greater Israel project, creating a massive humanitarian disaster for the Lebanese people and destroying Hezbollah and other resistance groups on the ground.

Despite Israel's indiscriminate bombings all over Lebanon, its targeting of resistance leaders, its air force, its tanks, its navy, it failed completely to achieve any of its publicly stated military or political goals.

Militarily it promised to destroy the resistance, politically it claimed it would facilitate the return of its illegal settlers to their illegal settlements in northern occupied Palestine.

It accomplished neither, so an off-ramp to save Israeli soldiers lives but not necessarily Lebanese lives had to be found.

Through their allies in America, Egypt and Qatar, a ceasefire was agreed.

The resistance factions would leave southern Lebanon, Israel would temporarily occupy these areas near its border. Israeli aggression would cease. The Lebanese army and the United Nations peacekeeping forces would enforce the ceasefire in the Israeli occupied areas and the Zionist baby killers would leave.

Today marks the end of the 60-day ceasefire in Lebanon and the agreed withdrawal of Zionist forces.

Israel has violated that ceasefire over 1000 times, killing and maiming Lebanese civilians, while continuing to bomb their homes destroy parts of their infrastructure and build defensive structures for the continued illegal occupation of these towns and lands indeed scores of residents who wished to return their homes in southern Lebanon have been systematically shot and wounded by aggressive Zionist soldiers who are carrying out the orders of their superiors who are already subject to International Criminal Court arrest warrants for crimes against humanity.

Israel does not do ceasefires in the conventional established method of implementation, whereby two parties abide by an agreed set of proposals and adhere to them.

Zionism comes kicking and screaming to the negotiating table, gets the best deal it can, expects the other side to stand over the pact and then does whatever it wants.

Netanyahu stated his forces will not leave southern Lebanon. They are digging in.

The brokers of the ceasefire deal Egypt Qatar and the USA will do nothing to enforce the conditions they are supposed to be responsible for.

UNIFIL has no teeth and the Lebanese army in part will prevent its own civilians from returning to their Israeli occupied homes and land, possibly assisting Israel in its ongoing occupation.

The ceasefire and the recent elections in the Lebanese Parliament for the positions of President and Prime minister are a cynical ploy by the enemies of Lebanon who come disguised as their friends to separate the resistance from the levers of political power, install compliant puppets and use the Lebanese army not as a bulwark against Zionist aggression but as a tool against the resistance. Hopefully they will not succeed.

Let us see what action the Lebanese army takes to expel the illegal Israeli aggression and occupation of parts of its sovereign territory.

I would wager it won't lift a finger, it will defacto police its own population, much like the discredited Palestinian Authority in the occupied territories. The role of the PA is to protect the Israelis and to police its own people to keep them pacified in the face of their displacement through replacement at the hands of the Zionist entity.

No one is to return home to southern Lebanon today.

Let us see what actions are deployed by the resistance. Will they rely on America Egypt Qatar to fulfil their obligations to the ceasefire agreements, a complete waste of time in my opinion?

Will they rely on UNIFIL and the Lebanese army to remove the Zionist squatters from south of the Litani river, or will they be forced to retake their homes as they did in 2000 and 2006 with yet another national war of liberation to free their land again from Zionist aggression?

The situation is exactly the same in Gaza. The Zionist regime was forced by Trump to negotiate the return of Israeli military personnel held captive in Gaza since Operation Al Aqsa Flood on October 7, 2023. Trump has proven beyond all doubt that one telephone call from the American President can end this carnage, and condemned Biden as the genocide enabler he has most certainly been.

As part of the deal they agreed to allow the residents of Northern Gaza to return to what were once vibrant neighbourhoods filled with smiling children going to school, doctors attending their patients, mothers giving birth, fathers working in the fields and factories, music in the air, the smell of Kunafa, and the sound of birds, laughter and passing cars.

What in reality they will return to is dust and desperation. Destruction and defilement.

That will not stop the steadfast samud of the Palestinian people to rebuild their homes, their lives and their children and grandchildren future.

The Zionist forces are refusing to allow these residents to return home.

Will these ceasefires hold in Lebanon and Gaza well when one of the signatories has no intention of honouring their commitments as they have no honour, then I would say the prospect of a lasting peace is beyond our reach at this time.

Remember, Palestinian and Lebanese resistance exist as a reaction to the Zionist occupation of Palestine and Lebanon.

Israel is a political and military cancer in the heart of west Asia, it is a parasitic foreign alien infection in the body politic of the region.

If cancer remains untreated it slowly kills the host and like any parasitic infection it must be isolated, treated and then removed.
